Common problems, avoidance methods and tips when using the 3 way stopcocks
Disinfect before starting to ensure that the operation is aseptic.
Common problems in operation and how to avoid them
There are some problems that often occur during the operation, which you may have encountered during the operation. If you don’t know what’s going on, and don’t know how to deal with and prevent it, just look at the following.
1. Why is the medicine missed?
Answer: ①First of all, when the medical three-way valve leaves the factory, all three channels are open by default. We need to close the valve of the other channel before refilling the medicine, as shown in Figure 1. Avoid leakage and waste of liquid medicine due to the third interface problem.
②Most of the reasons for the leakage of medicine are related to the injection device. When using the tee, do not remove the rubber piston of the syringe. This will cause the inside of the injection device to be leaky, which will not only produce bacteria, but also cause leakage of medicine. Happening.
2. Why is there a lot of bubbles produced?
Answer: If the air in the syringe and the three-way valve is not emptied, a lot of bubbles will be produced when the medicine is mixed, especially for some thick liquids. Push and pull the medicine back and forth in the syringe, a large number of bubbles will be distributed in the liquid, and it is difficult to subside. Maybe your numbness time is almost past, the bubbles are still in the liquid, and you can’t operate it at all. Therefore, we must empty the air in the syringe before and after the liquid medicine is drawn, and before the start of the medicine, the air in the tee needs to be emptied, and then the medicine is exchanged in the tee.
3. Why does the needle explode during the injection process?
Answer: This situation mainly occurs on flat-nose syringes.
①The flat-mouth syringe is not like the screw-type syringe, it has no buckle, so the tee can’t be fastened to the syringe.
②The three-way end of the flat-nose syringe is easy to slip after contact with liquid, and pushing hard during operation will increase the appearance of burst needles. Therefore, Zemei recommends that ladies and sisters should choose a spiral syringe for the medicine mixing operation.
4. What to do if there is too much liquid?
Answer: A 10ml syringe is generally used for the daily injection of medicine, so the total amount of the two products in a single injection is generally controlled within 10ml. Avoid the piston falling off after the bolus is too strong, causing bacteria to enter and leakage problems. If the amount we need to add the medicine exceeds 15ml, it is recommended to divide it multiple times and use the three-way operation according to the proportion.
Two commonly used tips for drawing medicine:
1. Draw medicine from the sealed bottle:
Remove the central part of the aluminum cap, after routine disinfection, insert the needle into the bottle stopper, and inject the same amount of air as the required liquid medicine into the bottle to increase the pressure in the bottle and avoid negative pressure, and then draw the liquid medicine.
2. To draw the medicine from the ampoule:
Place the needle obliquely downwards below the liquid level of the ampoule, and draw the liquid medicine. Do not hold the piston shaft with your hands when pumping medicine, only the piston handle.
